I hate trolls...

No really, I seriously hate them.

So we know this troll, Booth is his name I guess. He hates tech, which offends me considering my profession. We keep an eye on several 'net boards for word from Booth, and he will drop a line with a place and time for us to meet. We met up at Millie's today and he had some work for us. I like work, especially this kind. Pseudo-detective drek. Yeah... well a few weeks back we did a clean-up job on some rogue Fixer, and I guess we missed something? Or someone else got there first? Anyway we brought in everything we had but it wasn't everything Booth's employer wanted.

So Booth brings us a list of AceessID numbers which contacted Mr. Fixer prior to his disappearance and tells us to figure out what's going on. Turns out some other agency is hiring away their talent, and its up to us to find out who.

Oh and did I mention he only offers us ¥100 a week? What does he think this is, UNICEF? I'm wiz with data, I don't work for scraps. We talked him up to ¥750/week which is better, with a ¥1000 kicker if we get the answer inside two weeks. Piece of cake chummer, we'll have it in no time.

I still hate trolls.

Well... here I am.

Catja suggested I start this. Not sure why, but she said it would 'establish street cred' whatever that means. So here I am. My name isn't LinkDead, but that's what people call me. Why is a long story, maybe I'll share that someday. I'm supposed to write what I feel, but chummer sometimes what I feel ain't fit to be written.

Right... Catja is telling me to stop being so depressing. Okay, sure... let's talk about something happy. Do you like dogs? I fucking hate dogs. Wait... that isn't happy. Shit, this is harder than I thought. Okay well, she says I should start by introducing myself.

So, my name is LinkDead and I'm a shadowrunner. Wow, that sounds... like some kind of AA meeting admission. Anyway, its what I do. I run the shadows, take on jobs for (or against) the big bad megacorps. Suits don't usually associate with individuals of my... colorful background, so I generally work through a Johnson and a few layers of contacts. Keeps everything tidy, all the hands clean. They pay me to do things they don't want to do (or can't do) themselves.

Of course we don't call ourselves shadowrunners any more than a con artists calls himself a con artist. We generally refer to one another by our specialty. I am wiz with data, and I specialize in hacking and spoofing computer systems so you might call me a systems controller. There are a thousand terms for the different professions, but chances are if you're reading this you either already know that, or you're in over your head and should probably jack out. Catja says I'm rambling... she's here in the node with me working on a college paper.

Anyway...

So here's the blog. We'll see how it goes. I'll write when I have something to write about; and if I don't, well then you're out of luck chummer. Catch you next time.
